The Laboratory at Seventh-Day Adventist Hospital is blessed with well trained Staff having vast experience, most of the Staff have completed their DMLT training under the auspicious CMAI recognition. A warm and friendly working atmosphere is maintained in the Lab in order to provide better services to the patients.

The Lab consists of a Semi-Automated Analyzer and a Flame Photometer to take care of a majority of Biochemical Procedures, a Fully Automated Cell Counter to handle the Hematology Samples. Routine examination of Urine, Stool, Semen etc. are done. Rapid Tests such as HIV, HBsAg, HCV, VDRL, Troponin-I, Chikungunya, Leptospirosis, Dengue etc. are also done in the Lab. Histopathological, Microbiological procedures and certain Biochemical Procedures which are not done in the Lab are outsourced to Sudharma Lab (Thrissur) and Thyrocare Lab (Mumbai).

The Lab takes part in the External Quality Assurance Scheme (EQAS) on a monthly basis which is run by Christian Medical College, Vellore. Internal Quality control is also done for the various Routine Biochemical procedures in the Lab on a regular basis. Quality Control of our Laboratory Procedures has been found to be in the Good range under the EQAS Programme. Bio-hazardous Specimens (Needles, Syringes, Blood, and Urine) are dealt with utmost care abiding with the Standard Laboratory Procedures for Disposal of Bio-hazardous waste.

In order to provide better services and to include Newer Tests, Up-gradation of the Laboratory is highly essential. Some of the Future plans include Relocation of the Lab to provide a larger Working Space, Fully Automated Biochemical Analyzer and a Microbiology Lab.

The sonography department is equipped with Wipro GE systems and is capable of handling all the obstetric, general diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

X-ray Department
The hospital is equipped with 300MA machine and 60 MA portable machines. Well qualified technicians are capable of providing services for all types of cases.

This service is available for 24 hrs, for taking ECG and aiding the doctors to make quick diagnosis for intervention.

A 24 hr casualty is run by round the clock duty doctors. It is attached to the ICU unit and has a 24 hr stand by Ambulance service.

A new Emergency Room with start of the art functioning would be in operating shortly.

The ICU is attached with the Casualty unit and is equipped with monitor, pulse oxymeter, defibrillator, centralized O2 system and full fledged Nursing service.

The NICU is rated as one of the best in town with Incubation, warmer, UV light treatment and qualified staff operating round the clock.

Supported by the Orthopaedic Department is the Physiotherapy Department with full time resident Physiotherapist. Pharmacy

24 hr service is provided by qualified pharmacists.

A stand by ambulance is available for service at all times.

The canteen provides hygienic food for patients and other personnel.
